About This Project

Wood County is in a unique position of experiencing development demand in a metro region which has experienced no growth for nearly 50 years. The county is challenged with trying to reinvest in areas with existing infrastructure and preserving agricultural heritage while placemaking with new homes and businesses that are attractive to the current market to stimulate economic development.

MDC has assisted the county with a future land use plan that will serve as a strategic framework for land management, and township based zoning regulations. The update was needed to add teeth to the very general recommendations found in the previous plan.
